This rare 5 Speed has been gone thru from top to bottom. Complete engine teardown and rebuild to factory specs, New oil pump, 6 new pistons, new roller chain, all new upper. lower bearings, etc. A $4000.00 overhaul on the engine alone, New engine mounts. All new hoses (heater& radiator), new viscous fan clutch, new front, rear brake rotors, pads, new master cylinder. New clutch, pressure plate, pilot throwout bearing. New u-joints, new water pump, EGR valve, slave clutch cylinder. New MP softtop carpet and leather seats. Body was taken down to bare medal (by hand) . There is no bondo body filler! Two coats of primer followed by the original MB red to the tune of $4000 applied....new ECU, the only not original item is the JVC radio CD/AM-FM player. This is the only model of the R107 series with 5 speed manual transmission.Vacuum controlled headlight adjustment from dash. European Bumpers. This car -280SL is currently selling of 17000.00 pounds in England (34,000.00) and 22000 EU (33,000.00) in Holland. The 2.8 DOHC is the best and longest running production engine.
